A new line of temperature sensor assemblies that meet ATEX Directive 94/9/EC, approved for use in hazardous area locations, has been introduced by Ultra Electronics, Nuclear Sensor & Process Instrumentation (formerly Weed Instrument) of Round Rock, Texas.

With temperature sensor and transmitter assemblies certified for Flame-proof and Intrinsically-safe applications, these products meet the ATEX requirements specified in many installations world-wide.

The Flame-proof certification covers the spring-loaded sensor and connection head assembly that is suitable for all types of thermowells and are available in both RTD and thermocouple configurations.

The Intrinsically-safe certification covers the temperature transmitter, springloaded sensor and connection head assembly. This assembly is suitable for all types of thermowells. Either RTD's or thermocouples can be specified.

Ultra manufactures temperature sensors for critical applications in the nuclear power, aerospace, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and OEM markets.
