New 16’Micro FatMax® Tape Rule Is 20% More Compact

SUMMARY: Stanley has once again taken its FatMax® Tape Rule to a new level with the introduction of the Stanley® Micro FatMax® 16’ Tape Rule reinforced with BladeArmor™ coating. The new micro sized tape rule is 20% more compact then it’s predecessor and the smallest 1 Ľâ€ť wide tape in the industry resulting in superior comfort and grip. The Micro FatMax® Tape Rule features BladeArmor™ coating, a patented industrial thermoplastic coating designed to reduce breakage during uncontrolled retractions. In addition to offering one of the most durable tape blades in the industry, the new tape rule also provides users with an industry leading 11’ of blade standout.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada, January 19, 2004 – Stanley introduces the Stanley® 16’ Micro FatMax® Tape Rule reinforced with patented BladeArmor™ coating, featuring a high impact ABS case, that is 20% more compact then it’s predecessor. The patented BladeArmor™ coating is made from the same 3M material the military uses to protect aircraft parts such as the rotor blades on Sikorsky® BLACK HAWK helicopters. When applied to the first six inches of the Stanley® FatMax® Tape Rule, the patented BladeArmor™ coating provides improved strength and durability and reduces tape breakage during uncontrolled retractions.

Its features include patented 1-1/4” wide Mylar® polyester film wrapped steel blade that is 25-percent wider than conventional tape rules, a patented end hook with wings for multi-catch and grip versatility with an industry-leading 11’ of blade standout for increased utility. Its dual material (rubber and high-impact plastic) casing is comfortable and easy to control. A heavy-duty spring within the casing gives it a smooth recoil. A top-forward blade locking mechanism makes it easier for the user to lock and unlock the blade. The innovative blade hook is fastened by three corrosion-resistant rivets and protected by an oversized bumper for increased durability and longevity.
