Beckwood Develops Multi-Ram Tank Head Forming Press

St. Louis, MO - Beckwood Press Company has recently developed a new hydraulic tank head forming press with a multi-ram design. Beckwood's new Tank Head Forming Press can be customized for a wide range of specifications, including: tonnage, bed size, speed and stroke. The press is equipped with independently controlled clamp and draw rams and features a customer specified bed cushion.

The bed cushion can be engineered for standard or dynamic cushion control per the user's requirements. The dynamic cushion control includes independent travel zones, utilizing a recipe function on a PLC interface.

Beckwood recently delivered one of their new Hydraulic Tank Head Forming Presses with 1000 ton capacity. In addition to the draw ram, the press is equipped with a 170 ton capacity clamp ram and a 70" x 70" bed, all featuring bolsters with holes precision machined on center. The 4-post press features a 200 ton capacity, 24" stroke bed cushion for added precision. It utilizes heavy duty tie-rod construction and features a 37" stroke. Joystick controls are provided for controlling the drawing, clamping, and bed cushion rams.
