Weldcraft Introduces Industry's Smallest TIG Torch

WP-50 TIG Torch from Weldcraft Offers Precision Performance
-Available with 70- and 180-degree head configurations
-Optional built-in gas valve

APPLETON, Wis. 21 August 2006 - To improve TIG welding performance on precision applications and limited-access joints, Weldcraft® offers its patented WP-50 air-cooled torch-the smallest TIG torch on the market. The WP-50 is rated at 60-percent duty cycle up to 50 amps and offers pen-like control in tight quarters and on paper-thin material. Applications for the WP-50 include precision work in the aircraft and aerospace industries, artistic metalworking, and any welding application dealing with extremely thin base metals.

"There is a precise market for this torch, but it's the most important tool you can own if your job is to weld extremely thin material," explains Mike Sammons, sales and marketing manager, Weldcraft. "Its small size offers complete control of the torch and allows welders to make aesthetically pleasing welds on thin material without the risk of burnthrough."

Small Size Offers Big Benefits
The WP-50's miniature torch head is only 5/8-inch long and 3/8 inch in diameter. Available with 70- and/or 180-degree head configurations, the WP-50 is extremely maneuverable even in the tightest of spaces. The entire torch is only 8-1/2-inch long and 3/4-in. in diameter at its widest point. Compatible tungsten sizes include .020-, .040- and 1/16-inch diameters.

This unique torch can be ordered with either a 12.5- or 25-ft. power cable, and is available with a built-in gas control valve for use with power sources that do not feature solenoid valves. The entire torch package comes with the torch body, handle, power cable and electrode wrench.
