November 9, 2001 - Extended distance 1161A Miniature Series T-1 cable simplifies installations and saves space. The low-loss 26 AWG cable is available with up to 32 pairs and is suitable for use as communications cable in riser applications per NEC Article 800 and CEC Part 1 Section 60. Cable has ODs as small as 0.450 in., requires less space than 1249 type cable, is UL Type CMR and C(UL) CMG listed, and permits runs up to 550 ft, depending upon version.

Miniature Central Office Cable Comparable to Lucent 1161A But Smaller
A new, extended distance T-1 cable which is similar to Lucent 1161A cable and smaller than their 1249 series, to simplify installation and save space, is being introduced by Montrose/CDT of Auburn, Massachusetts.
Montrose 1161A Miniature Series Cable is a low-loss 26 AWG T-1 cable available with up to 32 pairs, that is suitable for use as communications cable in riser applications per NEC Article 800 and CEC Part 1 Section 60. Featuring O.D.s as small as .450" for 28 pair cable, it requires less space than Lucent 1249 type cable, is UL Type CMR and C(UL) CMG listed, rated at 75°C, and permits runs up to 550 ft., depending upon version.
Made from solid tinned 26 AWG copper wire with polyethylene insulation, a foil laminate shield with a drain wire, outer PVC jacket, and color-coded conductors twisted into pairs and stranded into a core, Montrose 1161A Miniature Series Cable exhibits 7.6 dB/1000 ft. attenuation @772 KHz.
