Featuring 4 x 2 in. footprint, 160 W single-output A-01601 Series runs from 170-370 Vdc and provides 5, 12, 24, and 48 V output options with 16 ms holdup time. Power factor corrected units deliver 12.5 W/in.³ with convection cooling and 20 W/in.³ when fan cooled. All models have 12 V auxiliary output for fan/standby purposes. Operating from -20 to +70°C with de-rating, switchers include auto recovery over voltage, over current, short circuit, and over temperature protection.

160 Watt Power Supply Offers 92% Efficiency with Just 102 x 50mm Footprint
October 2008 - Powerstax plc, market leaders in application rich high efficiency power solutions, announce the availability of the new A-01601 family of 160 watt, industry leading ultra-high power density single output power supplies. The low profile 1U x 102 x 50mm (4" x 2") footprint switchers provide 12.5W/inch³ with convection cooling and 20W/ inch³ fan cooled. Output options include 5V, 12V, 24V and 48V with 3.3V and 15V to be available in the near future. All models have a 12V auxiliary output for fan/standby purposes.
With up to 92% efficiency attainable, these power-factor corrected switching power supplies are suitable for ITE and some medical applications. The new Powerstax A-01601 series has a universal AC input and will run from 170-370 VDC and provides a 16mS Holdup Time. Auto recovery over voltage, over current, short circuit and over temperature protection is standard and operating temperature range is -20 to + 70 ºC with de-rating. For more than 100 watt output 200 LFM cooling is required. MTBF is >100000 Hours convection cooled and >300,000 hours with cooling. The A-01601 family has VDE, UL, c-UL for EN60950, IEC60950, UL/c-UL 60950 EN60601-1, IEC60601 and UL/c-UL 60601-1 safety standards and meets EMC standards including, conducted EMI EN55022 Class B, EN60601-1-2, EN55022 Class B, Voltage Fluctuation EN61000-3-3, ESD EN61000-4-2 8KV air-discharge, 6KV contact A and Radiated Field EN61000-4-3 3V/m, 80-2500MHz, 1kHz/2Hz 80% AM modulation.
