February 28, 2013 - Rugged, ignition-protected, and weatherproof SDLS series, available from 35–150 A @ 30 Vdc, has Klixon trip-free design as well as SAE J1625 and SAE J1171 approvals and meets 5,000 A @ 12 Vdc for interrupt capacity per ABYC E-11. FDLS series is similar but comes in surface mount version with switchable manual reset. Housing material is able to accommodate heavy gauge wire lugs across terminal studs. Both series serve truck, bus, specialty vehicle, electric vehicle, and marine markets.

Sensata Technologies Inc. has introduced two new switchable thermal circuit breakers for the truck, bus, specialty vehicle, electric vehicle and marine markets. They are:

The SDLS series which is available in a range from 35 to 150 amps @ 30 VDC. They are rugged, ignition protected and weatherproof. The SDLS offers easy mounting offers a trip free design.

Approvals include:

• SAE J1625 for surface vehicles circuit breaker standards and
• SAE J1171 for marine circuit breaker standards.

The SDLS series also meets 5000 amps @ 12VDC for interrupt capacity per ABYC E-11, DC electrical systems of boats.

The new FDLS series is similar to the above circuit breaker but is available in a surface mount version with a switchable manual reset. The FDLS is weatherproof; ignition protected, and also offers the Klixon trip-free design. In addition, the FDLS offers a stronger housing material for increased robustness and the ability to accommodate heavy gauge wire lugs across terminal studs.
