GeoVision Hybrid Platform Helps Migrate to IP Surveillance

Taipei, Taiwan Jan. 16, 2007 - GeoVision, the leading provider of digital surveillance technology and intelligent software-based solutions, recently introduced a surveillance platform, hybrid of the DVR and video server, in hopes to provide users with the benefits of IP-based surveillance, while enjoying fully usable DVR functionality that can efficiently calibrate to meet their needs with software applications for vertical markets.

The company's GV-Series digital surveillance system has furnished users with comprehensive diverse functionality and integration capabilities across a broad variety of platforms, such as point-of-sale, center monitoring stations, and license plate recognition. With the rise of IP-based surveillance systems, enterprise and government customers are considering IP infrastructure in the current surveillance network to lower structured cabling and construction costs. GeoVision's newly released hybrid surveillance platform, a GV-DVR and GV-Video Server combined solution, has the capability to incorporate IP-based solutions into the existing GeoVision DVR infrastructure.

Based on GeoVision's hybrid surveillance platform, customers can integrate IP surveillance into their digital surveillance infrastructure and save additional costs on DVR investment and long-range cabling. The GV-digital surveillance system can incorporate the analog video from DVR and video server into a multi-functional GUI and easily calibrate to IP networked surveillance.

The hybrid surveillance solution is especially suited for multi-site networked video and flexible camera deployments for public and commercial security markets, such as ATM, schools, and road monitoring. GeoVision's Hybrid Solution enables users to run their legacy analog cameras in the IP infrastructure, while performing system operations and monitoring functions via the digital surveillance system's multi-functional GUI.

"We view the hybrid surveillance platform as a migration to IP network surveillance," said Zina Liu, GeoVision Sales VP. "The technology migration offers the users an opportunity to simplify and modernize their legacy network in order to implement applications in a well-designed digital interface."

The GV-Video Server provides functionality for live monitoring, configuration, and system control. It has an independent web browser for smart and scalable monitoring over any distance via LANs or WANs. Users can view live video via 3G phone, IE browser and GV-digital surveillance system's GUI, the MultiView. Video can be sent to the GV-Center V2, a central monitoring application, collectively supporting 500 real-time video feeds, for the purpose of multi-site central monitoring. The GV-Video Server provides unsurpassed video quality of MPEG-4 ASP at full D1 (720x576) resolution at 30 FPS and utilizes dual streaming technology for video and audio transmission.
