Pre-Assembled Surge Protection Sets Protect Solar Installations
MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Phoenix Contact now offers pre-assembled surge protection sets for the solar photovoltaic (PV) industry.
The surge arresters in the PV sets have temperature-monitored, high-capacity varistors with optical fault warning and dynamic disconnect device. The PV sets are pre-assembled protection solutions in IP65 installation housing.
The PV-SET DC and PV-SET Multistring offer surge protection on the PV generator side only. They are designed for small-scale systems with a solar string or PV systems with several solar strings.
PV-SET DC/AC protects all power lines in the system, including both the PV generator side and the power supply. It provides optimum protection to an inverter, since the pre-assembled solution protects the DC input and the AC outputs from surge voltages.
