January 7, 2009 - Comprised of stacked silicon avalanche diode arrays, HEB Series suits harsh instrument and process control environments. Protection circuitry, interfaced with 4- or 5-pin rigid euro-connecters, provides up to 10 kA surge energy handling per protected wire. Housed in potted aluminum enclosure, models with single (4- or 5-wire) or dual (8- or 10-wire) set of connectors offer 36 V max service voltage, less than 1 psec response time, and 54.4 V @ 200 A/450 V max clamp voltage.

Meter-Treater, Inc. of Lake Park Florida Introduces its New HEB Series

The ideal protector for harsh Instrument and Process Control environments...

The HEB Series is a High Energy Bidirectional Surge Protective Device consisting of stacked silicon avalanche diode arrays. Protection circuitry is interfaced with 4 or 5 pin rigid euro-connecters (dc micro M12 connectors) providing up to 10kA of surge energy handing per protected wire. All units are housed in a rugged potted aluminum enclosure and are available with molded Zytel or aluminum end caps.

Models are available with either a single (4 or 5 wire) or dual (8 or 10 wire) set of connectors. Connector orientation is typically male for line (unprotected) side and female for load (protected) side. However, the device and its protection circuitry is totally bidirectional. Optional connector configurations are available upon request.

Performance parameters of the HEB Series include: a maximum service voltage of 36 volts, a response time of < 1 picosecond, a maximum clamp voltage of 54.4Volts @ 200Amps/450V, a UL flame rating of 94 VO and an operating temperature range of -40 to + 120C. Additional data on this product and other voltage applications is available from the factory upon request.

It is recommended that HEB units be interfaced directly between operating/control cables and located as close as possible to the equipment requiring protection. Units are intended for system incorporation and require a good ground connection.

The HEB Series is UL Listed and carries the European CE mark. It has a 10-year limited warranty and is available from stock. Consult the factory with your specific application requirements (800) 638-3788.
