Featuring traverse capability with 0.05 µm resolution, Surftest® SV-3000 CNC surface roughness measuring machine is designed for testing long workpieces. Machine has 800 x 500 x 200 mm measuring envelope, max traverse speed of 200 mm/sec, can comes with SURFPAK® software. Probe arm enables measurement of multiple cross sections and waviness over range, while I/O connection allows for use of transfer and safety devices as well as standard fixtures.

CNC Surftest® SV-3000 with 800 mm Moving Column Brings Side- Move Capability to Precision Surface Roughness Testing
(Aurora, IL) Responding to industry's need for surface roughness testing of long workpieces, Mitutoyo America Corporation announces the availability of Surftest® SV-3000 CNC surface roughness measuring machines with 800mm side traverse capability.
The new Surftest SV-3000 is engineered around a column-moving mechanism that virtually eliminates load capacity limitations. The machine's large measuring envelope (800mm X 500mm X 200mm) and long-stroke probe arm are designed to accommodate sizable, heavy workpieces such as crankshafts, heads & blocks, and camshafts as well as other powertrain components. The long reach of the probe arm also enables the SV-3000 to measure multiple cross sections and waviness over a wide range. A standard I/O connection allows for the use of common transfer and safety devices and standard fixtures.
The Surftest SV-3000 is constructed to attenuate vibration and minimize measurement deviations attributable to machine deflection while Mitutoyo SURFPAK® software provides advanced functions and analysis.
SURFPAK software also enables the Surftest SV-3000 with 800 mm traverse capability to support automatic measurement as well as a variety of evaluation parameters conforming to most world standards and analysis routines.
