High-Power HPC12 Resistor from Stackpole Offers up to 12.5W Continuous Power with No Heat Sink or Air Movement Required

RALEIGH, NC – The HPC12 from Stackpole is a high power surface mount resistor measuring 0.5” square by 0.4” high.  It can handle 5 watts continuous power with no additional heat sink or air movement required.  The HPC incorporates an anodized aluminum housing which allows it to handle significantly more power than other resistors of similar size without causing significant heat rise on the PCB.  If the application has 400 lfm air movement, the HPC12 can handle 12.5 watts.

The HPC12 is a popular choice for a wide range of power supplies and electric motor controls, as well as robotics, medical devices, test equipment, welding equipment, plasma cutters, network diagnostic equipment, and industrial automation.

The HPC12 is available in tape and reel and bulk packaging.  Pricing varies with resistance value and tolerance and ranges from $1.10 to $2.25 each in full package quantities.  Contact Stackpole or one of our valued distribution partners for volume pricing.  49 of the most popular values are available either from Stackpole direction or through catalog distribution.
