July 7, 2003 - Series 1104B LEDs feature water-clear lamp housing in PLCC-2 type surface mount package that is 1.9 mm high, making them suitable for compact panels, indicators, and keypads. Blue Model UB1104B and blue-green Model UG1104B feature InGaN/SiC die and luminous intensity of 100 and 300 mcd, respectively. Red Model FR1104B and yellow Model FY1104B, both with AllnGaP die, each provide luminous intensity up to 70 mcd. Units withstand temperatures from -40 to +100°C.

Wide Angle 120-Degree, Surface Mount 1104B LED Now In New Colors For Brighter Displays

Irvine, CA – June 26, 2003 – Designed as a wide-angle, top-view surface-mount LED, the 1104B Series from Stanley Electric is now available in an expanded range of colors and luminous intensities to support a wide range of display and indicator applications.
The 1104B LED features a wide 120-degree viewing angle with high luminous intensities of up to 300 mcd (If=10 mA), depending on the die and color. It is designed with a water clear lamp housing in an industry standard PLCC-2 type surface mount package that is only 1.9mm high, which makes it ideal in compact panels, indicators, key pads and more.
The new colors now available are the blue Model UB1104B and the blue-green Model UG1104B, both with an InGaN/SiC die, and with a luminous intensity of 100 and 300 mcd (If=10 mA), respectively. The new red Model FR1104B and the yellow Model FY1104B, both with an AllnGaP die, each feature a luminous intensity of up to 70 mcd (If=20 mA).
With its wide viewing angle of up to 120 degrees, a broad selection of colors and brightness levels suitable for every application, the 1104B LED offers excellent lighting ergonomic characteristics. It supports applications in appliances, automotive, medical devices, instrumentation, portable devices and more.
Designed for variable operating environments, the 1104B LED withstands operating temperatures that range from –40°C to +100°C. Other key specifications, depending on color and die, include: 80-84 mW power dissipation, 20-30 mA forward current, 50-100 mA peak forward current, and 5 V reverse voltage. Derating is 0.5 to 0.75 mA/°C, again depending on color and die chosen.
The 1104B LED is compatible with today’s automated assembly and soldering techniques. It comes in tape-and-reel packaging suitable for high-speed pick-and-place equipment. Both reflow and dip soldering equipment can be used with the 1104B.
