Wide Angle BR1111C Surface Mount LED Delivers Bright, Uniform Lighting

Irvine, CA – May 15, 2003 – Designed with a wide 140-degree viewing angle and a dominant wavelength of 647 nm, the miniature surface mount BR1111C LED from Stanley Electric is an excellent lighting source for a wide range of electronic devices.
With a footprint measuring only 1.6-x-0.8 mm in an industry standard 1608 (0603) package, the tiny BR111C LED fits in tight spaces to accommodate high density designs. It is suitable for applications in appliances, automotive aftermarket accessories, medical devices, cell phones, pagers, PDAs, industrial instrumentation and more.
The BR111C LED is brilliant red, featuring a GaAlAs die and offers a wide, uniform spatial distribution. It is designed for a luminous intensity of up to 11.7 mcd (If=20mA) in a milky-white type lens. It is also an excellent choice for backlighting applications, including LCDs.
Designed for variable operating environments, the BR111C LED withstands operating temperatures that range from –30°C to +85°C. Other key specifications include: 57.5 mW power dissipation, 25 mA forward current, 60 mA peak forward current, and 4 V reverse voltage. Derating is from 0.36 (DC) 0.86 (pulse) mA/°C.
The BR1111C LED is compatible with today’s automated assembly and soldering techniques. It comes in tape-and-reel packaging suitable for high-speed pick-and-place equipment. Both reflow and dip soldering equipment can be used with the BR1111C LED.
The BR1111C LED is priced at $0.081 each in quantities of 100 pieces or less. The 1111C LED Series also is available in other colors that include: orange, yellow, yellow-green, green and pure green.
