Suite enables testing of digital television hardware.August 22, 2007 -
Combining software and hardware packages, Trident Suite provides customized testing automation for digital television technologies based on National Instruments LabVIEW, TestStand, and PXI hardware platforms. Transport Stream Generator (TSG) creates/customizes transport streams, Digital Video Generator (DVG) transforms steams files into single binary data, and Digital Video Player (DVP) streams binary data generated from DVG to National Instrument's RFSG hardware.

DAQTron Introduces Trident Suite
Trident Suite Enables Testing of Digital Television Hardware With National Instruments LabVIEW, TestStand, and PXI Platform
ATLANTA, Aug. 8 -- DAQTron, Inc., an industry leader in the implementation of broadband test systems, announced today immediate availability of Trident Suite, a set of software and hardware packages designed to provide customized testing automation for digital television technologies, based on National Instruments LabVIEW, TestStand, and PXI hardware platform.
Trident Suite is designed to span the entire process of testing digital broadcast equipment. Trident Suite includes:
o Trident Transport Stream Generator (TSG) - Creation of customized transport streams. The content of the transport streams is creator-chosen, and can be video still images, video streams, and audio samples and streams. The resulting transport streams can include system information for many different standards, including DVB, ATSC, and ISDB.
o Trident Digital Video Generator (DVG) - Transforms customized transport stream files into a single binary data format suitable for playback on National Instrument's PXI RF Signal Generator (RFSG) hardware.
o Trident Digital Video Player (DVP) - Streams binary data generated from DVG to National Instrument's RFSG hardware. DVP also performs other testing and error checking, such as Bit Error Ratio (BER) testing, and adding impairments for signal quality tests.
"The DAQTron Trident Suite provides the ultimate combination of flexibility, upgradeability, and cost for testing of devices utilizing digital video technology," said Robert Sandage, President of DAQTron. "And, use of the National Instruments LabVIEW, TestStand, and PXI platform provides for even further efficiencies in that customers can easily integrate with other already existing solutions such as audio or analog video testing."
