Littelfuse Releases New Subminiature 369 Series TE5® and 383 Series TR5® Fuses for Electronic Ballast Applications

The new fuses address an emerging trend to replace glass cartridge fuses with smaller TE5® and TR5® fuses in ballast designs

DES PLAINES, Illinois, December 1, 2008 - Littelfuse, Inc. (NASDAQ/NGS:LFUS) today introduced two new series of subminiature time-lag, radial leaded fuses for electronic ballast applications in fluorescent lighting.

The 369 Series fuses in TE5® packages and the 383 Series fuses in TR5® packages give designers two new package options over glass cartridge fuses, with advantages in size and easier part placement. They feature radial leads, rather than the axial leads on cartridge fuses that must be preformed before insertion.

Fuses are available with ampere ratings from 1A to 10A for the 383 Series and 1A to 6.3A for the 369 Series, with UL recognized safety certification and METI for 1A to 5A. Certain ratings for the 383 Series have VDE approval as well.

The new fuses are rated for 300VAC, allowing circuit designers greater flexibility and a wider selection of circuit protection solutions. Interrupting ratings are 100A for the 383 Series in ratings from 1A to 4A, and 50A for the 383 Series in other ratings and for the 369 Series.

Both the 383 and 369 Series are designed in accordance to IEC 60127-3 and are RoHS compliant/Pb-Free.

Parts may be supplied in either Bulk or Tape & Ammopack depending on customer requirements.

Availability.
Both the 383 series and 369 series are available now in both sample and OEM quantities. Sample requests can be made through authorized Littelfuse distributors worldwide; for pricing and other information contact Daniel Wang, dwang@littelfuse.com.
