New Submersible Model Solves Pumping Dilemma

Effective solids handling for low-flow high-head applications

Aurora, IL - February 19, 2009 - A common problem in the design of sewage and waste water pumping systems is the effective handling of large solids for low-flow high head applications. In order to meet the necessary pump output requirements, the ability to handle large solids is often sacrificed in the pump hydraulic design. Yeomans Chicago Corporation has solved this dilemma with the introduction of their new Model 412.53SV submersible solids-handling pump. The pump utilizes a single-vane impeller that is trimmable to meet the specific duty rating necessary for each application. The impeller will also pass full 3" spherical solids to meet the preferred specification requirements of today's sewage pumping industry. The pump's capacity range is 100 to 1100 GPM and it produces discharge pressure up to 175 feet TDH. The model is provided in both free-standing and guide rail mounted configurations and is F.M. listed for Class 1, Div. 1, Group C & D hazardous locations. Silicon carbide mechanical seals, moisture detection and thermal overload sensors are standard, as is the Modu-CabŪ cap and cable system. Motor sizes range from 15 to 40 HP. Sales and service support are available through the manufacturer's worldwide network of authorized representatives and distributors.

A part of the Grundfos Group of Companies, Yeomans Chicago Corporation is a leading manufacturer of centrifugal solids-handling pumps and equipment, including the Chicago Pump, Yeomans Pump and Morris Pumps product lines.
