Solid-State Model SST Slim-Line Level Sensor Provides High-Quality Measurement in Narrow Diameter Configuration
FEASTERVILLE, PA-The Model SST Submersible Level Transmitter from AMETEK PMT Products is designed to fit into tight applications, while providing the same high quality, digitally compensated level measurement capability as other AMETEK PMT Products.
The Model SST's 0.69 inch diameter housing allows the unit to fit small-bore applications, while its rugged 316 stainless steel diaphragm construction offers excellent environmental protection. The simple design and rugged construction of this solid-state instrument ensures long-lasting service with virtually no maintenance.
The Model SST transmitter indicates the level of a liquid by continuously measuring hydrostatic pressure via its sensing element, an ion-implanted silicon semiconductor chip with integral Wheatstone Bridge circuit. Once the sensor measures the pressure, its data is converted to 4 to 20mA output signal. This signal provides for excellent linearity and repeatability, low hysteresis and long-term stability.
The transmitter is easy to install. All of its electronics are mounted in a submersible 316 stainless steel housing. Users simply lower the transmitter into a vessel or well. The transmitter is available calibrated for any span needed from 0 to 15 psi or 0 to 1 bar (0 to 35 feet or 0 to 10.5 meters of water) through 0 to 150 psi or 0 to 10 bar (0 to 345 feet or 0 to 105 meters of water). An additional lower pressure range of 0 to 6 psig (0 to 14 feet or 0 to 4.2 meters of water) will be available shortly.
The Model SST transmitter works in conjunction with the AMETEK Model DMC Digital Meter/ Controller or the AMETEK Level Mate II Level Measurement System. The Model SST Transmitter has internal lightning protection and will soon be available with a desiccant option.
