It's Round-Up Time, with Heyco's Expanded Family of Double D Lockitâ„¢ Strain-Relief Bushings

Toms River, NewJersey, March, 2004 - Heyco Products, Inc. created the term "Lockitâ„¢" decades ago, as product specifier or installer shorthand for a self-locking line of strain-relief bushings for wide-ranging electrical wire and cable applications.

Now Heyco adds yet another generation to this popular industry product by expanding its family of RDD Lockits for round wires and cables.

Originally introduced for round cables ranging from 0.22" to 0.43," the family has been expanded by the addition of RDD101A, RDD401 and RDD501 to cover cables ranging from 0.125" to 0.600," and to accommodate a wider variety of UL cable-type designations.

New Product: Expanded family of Round Double D (RDD) Lockitâ„¢ strain-relief bushings. (US Patent No. 4,913,385)

Design: Heyco Products In-House Product Design & Engineering Team.

Manufacturer: Heyco Products, Inc.

Product Applications: Heyco's Round Double D Lockit fits right into standard round or double 'D' holes in electrical cabinets, panels or other enclosures, large or small. It provides lasting strain relief against twisting, pulling, cord pulsing or gravity in large and small appliances, power tools, consumer and industrial electronics, motor housings, fighting fixtures; any electrical assembly prone to the stresses of pull, push or twist.

Product Description: RDD Lockit is an expanded family of double-duty strain-relief bushings designed specifically for round wires and cables. Double flat sides on the RDD Lockit prevent it from turning in a double-D hole, protecting current-carrying wires from twisting and other natural or inadvertent stresses that cause electrical failure.

RDD Lockit has a proprietary five-step locking mechanism that accommodates a range of chassis thicknesses up to .125 inches, and is available in eight UL designation categories to accommodate eight different cable types varying from 0.125" diameter to 0.600" diameter.

RDD Lockit easily snaps into place without need for any tools other than ordinary electrical pliers, adding to installer comfort and safety, reducing assembly time and cost. It locks in place directly onto cords without need for chassis insertion, allowing the Lockit to be preassembled onto cords for additional time and cost efficiency. A series of user-friendly Lockitâ„¢ Pre-assembly Equipment can be specified to dramatically reduce assembly time in high-volume applications.

Construction & Finishes: RDD Lockit strain-relief bushings are molded in Heyco's own state-of-the-art U.S. plant, of high-impact Type 6/6 nylon. Bushings conform to ASTM standard D-4066-PA111, have a flammability classification of 94V-2, can withstand temperatures up to 105°C; are UL listed and CSA certified. Standard Heyco colors are matte-finish black or white. Custom colors are available.
