Ideal for community shelters and safe rooms, corporate campuses, schools, healthcare facilities, and government facilities, the 7180(F)TD (Tornado Device) is a three-point auto deadlocking system engineered to help protect lives by securing shelters.
Windstorm solutions like the 7180(F)TD are critical today to the establishment of safe rooms in our schools, office, facilities, and hospitals. This need has come into clear focus in the aftermath of the tornado outbreak of spring/summer, 2011.
The 7180(F)TD's extra-heavy duty steel components secure the door to the frame -- at the top, bottom and center latch points -- reinforcing the openings to withstand extreme wind speeds and flying debris. All three latching points are activated automatically when the door is closed.
UL Listed and certified in accordance with FEMA 361 and ICC 500, the 7180(F)TD through-bolts on a door for solid attachment and is available in a variety of trim styles and finishes. The 7180(F)TD is part of a complete ASSA ABLOY tornado- and hurricane-resistant solution utilizing Ceco StormPro® 361, Curries StormPro® 361 and Fleming F-5 doors and frames, as well as McKinney® SP hinges.
