Saint-Gobain Adds Larger Size to Pure-FitŪ SC Line

New 1-inch sterile connector for greater flow volume.

BEAVERTON, Mich. - Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics has expanded its line of sterile connectors with the introduction of the new 1-inch Pure-FitŪ SC.

Pure-FitŪ SC is designed to make completely sterile connections possible outside the clean room environment, and the addition of a 1-inch size expands the range of applications for which this innovative product is suitable.

Other available sizes are 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch; these connectors are fully interchangeable to meet step-down requirements.

Pure-FitŪ SC features an easy-to-assemble valve design that leaves no gaps or residue, eliminating problems associated with other systems. The use of Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics' patented Pure-FitŪ SIBŪ technology on barb connections ensures a completely smooth inner bore flow path, and all components are manufactured from fully animal derivative- and BPA-free materials for ultimate purity.

Other unique features have been engineered into Pure-FitŪ SC:

- Triple-redundant locking mechanism that simplifies validation, virtually eliminating the chance of operator error

- Easy-to-see visual indicators that confirm proper engagement

- Laser-etching for complete lot traceability

- Sterilizable via gamma irradiation or autoclaving

All Pure-FitŪ SC sizes, including the new 1-inch version, are fully characterized, validated and tested to a variety of specifications including USP Class VI, ISO 10993, and EP 3.1.9. All detailed testing protocols and additional product data are available upon request.
