December 3, 2004 - Two-phase NEMA 16, 17, and 23 Hybrid Steppers are available with custom windings, output shafts, and mounting holes. Gearheads measuring 42 mm are supplied with NEMA 16 and 17 steppers offering current ratings from 0.6–1.20 A/phase at 3.6–4.0 V, and holding torque from 1.73–6.94 lb-in. Gearheads measuring 60 mm feature NEMA 23 steppers offering current ratings from 0.85–1.50 A/phase at 4.0–8.6 V, and holding torque of 8.67–34.7 lb-in. Step angle for both is 0.250–0.050°.

Custom, Low Cost - Hybrid Stepper Gearmotors for OEMs

Santa Clara, CA - Source Engineering, Inc. (SEI) has introduced a low cost, series of custom NEMA 16,17, and 23 2-phase hybrid steppers with 42 mm and 60 mm gearheads for OEMs. By offering custom windings, output shafts (length, flats, pinions, keyways), and mounting holes SEI makes it easy to integrate these high performance gearmotors into a new or existing application. A few of the many possible applications include: X-Y tables, medical instruments, office equipment, index tables, and robotics.

The 42 mm gearheads supplied with NEMA 16 and 17 steppers are available in six standard ratios (3.6:1,7.2:1,9:1,10:1,18:1, and 36:1), and custom ratios are available. The gearmotors current ratings are from 0.6 A/phase to 1.20 A/phase at 3.6 to 4.0 V. Holding torque is from 1.73 lb-in. (0.2 Nm) to 6.94 lb-in. (0.8 Nm) and the Step Angle (full step) is from 0.250° down to 0.050°.

The 60 mm gearheads supplied with NEMA 23 steppers are also available in six standard ratios (3.6:1,7.2:1,9:1,10:1,18:1, and 36:1) and custom ratios are also available. The gearmotors current ratings are from 0.85 A/phase to 1.50 A/phase at 4.0 to 8.6 V. Holding torque goes from 8.67 lb-in (1.0 Nm) to 34.7 lb-in (4.0 Nm) and the Step Angle (full step) is from 0.250° down to 0.050°.
