Greenlee Textron Introduces Manual Steel Stud Punch

Rolled edges save installation time

ROCKFORD, III., June 14, 2002- Greenlee has developed a manual BX stud punch for the installation of conduit and armored cable in commercial and industrial setting in non-load bearing partition steel studs that do not require a bushing. The stud
punch rolls the edges of the steel over, leading to the smooth installation of armored cable as it avoids the cable getting hung-up or nicked. The Greenlee BX stud punch is a patented piercing type manual steel stud punch for 24 to 20 gauge thick steel 2x4s.

The BX stud punch is designed as a more economical light duty punch that easily rolls the edges over in non-load bearing partition steel studs, said Ken Hagemeyer, director, product manager. This tool allows for the easy installation of steel clad armored cable such as BX and corrugated PVC conduit where the code does not require insulated bushings.
