Sandmeyer Steel Company Adds 410S (UNS S41008) Stainless Steel Plate to their Extensive Inventory

Philadelphia, PA - October 3, 2007

Sandmeyer Steel Company has added 410S (UNS S41008) to its extensive line of stainless steel and nickel alloy plate and plate products. 410S is a "restricted carbon," non-hardening modification of 410 (UNS S41000), the general purpose 12% chromium stainless steel. The low hardening characteristic helps prevent cracking when the alloy is exposed to high temperatures or in the as-welded condition. The addition of 410S will allow Sandmeyer Steel Company to better service the petroleum refining and petrochemical processing, mining, and thermal treatment industries and infrastructure applications.

The Company is stocking 410S in plate thicknesses from 3/16" (5 mm) through 3" (75 mm) thick. Sandmeyer Steel Company also inventories 300 series stainless steels, duplex alloys 2205, 2304, and 2507, 17-4 PH, 410, and the recently added SSC-6MO (UNS N0. 08367), a 6% molybdenum "superaustenitic" alloy. Nickel alloys 330, 400, 400AR, 600, 625, 800, 800H, 800AT, and C276 are also in stock. With over 100 pieces of in-house plate processing equipment, Sandmeyer Steel Company offers unmatched value added plate processing capabilities.

Sandmeyer Steel Company was founded in 1952 by the late Paul C. Sandmeyer. Family owned and managed, the Company is recognized as a leading manufacturer of stainless steel and nickel alloy plate and plate products.
