November 11, 2009 - Bare wire and covered stainless steel electrodes, Arcos 309/309L are available in dia from 0.035 - 3/16 in. Covered electrodes are offered in 3 different coatings, -15, -16, and -17 and in standard dia from 3/32 - 3/16 in., as well as non-standard dia up to 0.250 in. Arcos 309/309L bare wire (ER309/309L) and covered (E309/309L) units can be used for welding Type 304 and similar base metals. They are suited for general fabrication, automotive exhaust systems, and nuclear power facilities.

Arcos Stainless Steel Electrodes Weld Alloys in Wrought & Cast Form


Mount Carmel, PA ---Arcos Industries, LLC offers new bare wire and covered stainless steel electrodes, Arcos 309/309L, which are designed for welding similar alloys in wrought and cast form.

The Arcos 309/309L bare wire (ER309/309L) and covered (E309/309L) electrodes can be utilized for welding Type 304 and similar base metals, where severe corrosion conditions exist. In addition, these electrodes are used for joining 304 to carbon steel or the clad side of 304 clad steels. Arcos 309/309L also joins Types 304, 347, 321 and 316 and duplex stainless steels to mild and low alloy steels and can provide a buffer layer prior to surfacing 308L for corrosion resistant overlays.

Typical welding applications for Arcos 309/309L bare wire and covered electrodes include general fabrication, automotive exhaust systems, pipelines and equipment in chemical processing plants and nuclear power facilities.

Arcos 309/309L bare wire electrodes are available in diameters from .035"- 3/16", the covered electrodes are offered in three different coatings, -15, -16, and -17 and in standard diameters from 3/32" - 3/16", as well as non-standard diameters up to .250".
