Spring Core Chuck

Progressive Machine Co., Inc. introduces a new style core chuck. The chuck, or spring core adapter (as it is commonly known), mounts directly to the shaft (typically keyed), of either a Pay-Off or Take-Up machine.

Cores are simply slipped on to the tapered end and over the series of bowed springs. Pre-drilled holes permit the springs to be located for either clockwise or counter clockwise slip, or no slip.

The bowed spring design offers an inherent self cleaning feature with each core removal. There are no grooves, clamps, or mechanical mechanisms, where a build up of excess core dust can reduce the core gripping action.

Most typically used for low to medium range tension applications, these core adapters offer fast core changes without tools, air, or other operator inconviences.

Standard Core Adapters are available in all shaft sizes, and core sizes to 6". Special orders for larger cores are available. Adapter widths available to meet customer needs.
