New Spill-Resistant Vacuum Breakers Protect Water Supply in Indoor Applications

MATTHEWS, NC -- The new Conbraco® spill-resistant vacuum breaker (SVB) prevents cross-connections without allowing a water spill.

Designated the 4W-500 Series, the new valve is designed to prevent contamination of the potable water supply due to back-siphonage. The SVB is ideally suited for continuous pressure, indoor applications where water spillage is undesirable.

During normal flow conditions, the SVB's check valve remains open and the atmospheric vent seals in the bonnet assembly. As the line pressure falls to 1 psi, the spring loaded atmospheric vent opens and the check valve closes, breaking the vacuum and thereby preventing back-siphonage. Water is prevented from spilling during operation.

Available in 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" sizes, Conbraco SVB valves feature a corrosion-resistant Noryl® body, silicone rubber discs and stainless steel springs and fasteners for years of reliable service. Internal components are easily accessible, simplifying repair and maintenance. Integral shut-off valves and a 1/4" flare test connection are standard.

The SVB's straight-through flow path creates minimal head loss. Maximum working pressure is 150 psig. The operating temperature range is from 33°F to 180°F.
