Spectroelectrochemistry Instruments characterize PV cells.

Press Release Summary:

Featuring flexible configuration, IMPS/IMVS Intensity Modulated Photocurrent Spectroscopy and Intensity Modulated Photovoltage Spectroscopy instruments allow use of any color LED. Setup includes dummy cell allowing background subtraction. Instruments are fully controlled in standard data acquisition software, Gamry Framework. By adding 2 potentiostats – one to drive LED and another to measure cell response - IMPS/IMVS can be used to learn recombination and charge-extraction characteristics.

Gamry Instruments Announces New Product to Their Spectroelectrochemistry Instruments

Gamry Instruments has added an Intensity Modulated Photocurrent Spectroscopy (IMPS) and Intensity Modulated Photovoltage Spectroscopy (IMVS) to their line-up of Electrochemical Instruments

Gamry Instruments, manufacturer of electrochemical instruments, has added IMPS-IMVS to their product line of Electrochemical Instruments.  The Intensity Modulated Photocurrent Spectroscopy and Intensity Modulated Photovoltage Spectroscopy are techniques useful for characterizing photovoltaic cells. With the flexible configuration, Gamry’s IMPS/IMVS allows the use of any color LED and the set up includes a dummy cell allowing background subtraction.  The new product is fully controlled in the standard data acquisition software, Gamry Framework.

Gamry first introduced the IMPS-IMVS last week at the 247th ACS National Meeting & Exposition in Dallas, TX. “Many were drawn in to our booth by the mesmerizing pulsation of IMPS” said Dr. Chris Beasley, Marketing Manager at Gamry, who attended the show. “By adding two Gamry potentiostats – one to drive the LED and a second to measure the cell response - you can use IMPS/IMVS to learn recombination and charge-extraction characteristics.”  Dr. Beasley also mentioned that a number of visitors were specifically asking about Spectroelectrochemistry and interest in Raman Spectroelectrochemistry.

Additional information including images, specifications, application notes and downloadable brochures for IMPS/IMVS, Raman Spectroelectrochemistry, Potentiostats and all of Gamry’s products are available at the Gamry.com website.

Gamry Instruments was founded in 1989 and designs and manufactures precision electrochemical instruments and accessories. From the start, Gamry has created instruments with uncommon value and performance with the simple goal of wanting every user to be satisfied with their Gamry Instrument.
