Designed to lower overall profile of floor/ceiling assembly, FIRM-FILL® SCM consists of 3 mm sound control mat topped with ¾ in. of FIRM-FILL® Brand Gypsum Concrete. It helps limit impact sound transmission in multi-family construction, improving sound control performance as well as creating smooth floor transition between hard surface and carpeted areas. To add tensile strength and reinforcement to gypsum concrete, product is made with coated fiberglass scrim and fabric combination.

NEWPORT BEACH, CALIF. - Hacker Industries, Inc., a leading supplier of cementitious floor underlayments and acoustical control products, today announced the introduction of FIRM-FILL® SCM, a new, thinner sound control mat. FIRM-FILL® SCM is designed to lower the overall profile of the floor/ceiling assembly, while reducing the cost of the sound control system.
Intended to help limit impact sound transmission in multi-family construction, FIRM-FILL® SCM, a 3mm sound mat, is topped with ¾" (19mm) of a FIRM-FILL® Brand Gypsum Concrete. This low-profile design improves sound control performance as well as creates a smoother floor transition between hard surface and carpeted areas. To add tensile strength and reinforcement to the FIRM-FILL® Brand Gypsum Concrete, FIRM-FILL® SCM is made with a coated fiberglass scrim and fabric combination.
