Industry First - Class 1, Division 2 Solid State Relay for use in Hazardous Locations

Northfield, IL, September 8, 2009 - SE Relays LLC announces the Magnecraft 861H solid state relay (SSR) series for use in hazardous locations. The revolutionary, intrinsically safe, patent-pending 861H incorporates an integrated heat sink and sealing technology to achieve the Class 1, Division 2 rating from Underwriters Laboratories® for approved use in Groups A, B, C and D hazardous locations. The slim line relay is an industry first for size, function and performance to be granted Class 1, Division 2 certification.

The 861H features current switching up to 15 amps DC and 10 amps AC and comes complete with an internal factory tested heat sink eliminating the need to compute complex thermal calculations. The 17.5 mm-wide relay mounts on DIN rails and panels to provide installation flexibility and save valuable real estate.

Dipin Jain, Product Manager, says: "I am excited about the expansion of the 861 series to include a version approved for use in hazardous locations. Our solid state relay certified as Class 1, Division 2, provides an industry first solution. The Magnecraft 861H fills a critical void in the mining, oil and gas industries that require high reliable switching solutions."

Three key features of the Magnecraft 861H - internal heat sink, Class 1, Division 2
certification and no moving parts - increase product reliability and optimize performance.

The 861H SSR Series is ideal for applications that demand reliability such as burner assemblies, chemical injections systems, extraction and refining machines, solenoid control, blower control, motorized duct and vent control, medical equipment and lighting.
