January 6, 2009 - Equipped with either RS-232 or USB interface, LSIS 120 series can read 1D barcodes as well as 2D codes for automated handling and testing systems, robot systems, and analysis automation. It operates with fixed focus and employs wide-angle optics for omnidirectional reading, which eliminates need to arrange codes in specific direction. Supplied in IP65 metal housing, reader has switching input and switching output as well as 8-channel, M12 turning connector.

Compact - More Compact - LSIS 120

The new LSIS 120 series from Leuze electronic combines barcode and 2D-code reading in a highly efficient and industrial-suited manner.

Until now, different systems were usually necessary for reading barcodes and 2D codes. These times have passed for automated handling and testing systems, robot systems and analysis automation. With the LSIS 120, Leuze electronic has brought a code reader to market that can reliably read one-dimensional barcodes, as well as 2D codes.

The LSIS 120 (with either RS-232 or USB interface) operates with fixed focus and a large depth of field. Both types are characterised by a large reading field with precise, wide-angle optics. Short read distances are also possible. All common barcodes and 2D codes are read omnidirectionally-they do not need to be arranged in a specific direction. The LSIS 120 enables continuous traceability of parts with code labels, from the raw producer to the end consumer, as is increasingly required for circuit boards, tools, food and in the automotive industry. Another area of use is manual reading, where the code is held under a fixed reader. This considerably accelerates processes at manual workplaces.

Through the combination of robust metal housing with protection class IP65, a glass window and the wide voltage range from 10-30 V DC , the LSIS 120 proves its suitability for industrial use. Because there are no mechanically moving parts, the application range can be expanded to include rough environmental conditions. The LSIS 120 series is very small and compact and is, thus, predestined for tight installation spaces. This flexibility is supported by an eight-channel, M12 turning connector.

The system is equipped with a switching input and switching output. It can be manually activated and configured by means of a trigger button. The extensive accessories support simple commissioning.
