Advanced Media's New RIDATA Solid State Drive Tough Enough for Industrial Data Storage

Resistant to Pollutants, Extreme Temperature Changes and Solve Data Storage Issues

Diamond Bar, Calif. - April 17, 2007 - Advanced Media, Inc. (AMI), manufacturer and marketer of the popular RIDATA(TM) brand of recordable CD and DVD media, electronic storage products, and digital media accessories, is launching its new Solid State Drive (SSD) to the industrial market. The drive is smaller than mechanical hard drives saving precious space in a variety of data storage uses.

The shop floor environment is a harsh one. It vibrates, is full of dust and other pollutants.. But a shop floor also needs to store data from a variety of sources. Since it has no moving parts, the RIDATA Flash SSD produces virtually no noise, no heat generation, and no vibration. Reliable temperature and humidity control assures long-lasting storage for critical data. The non-volatile Flash Solid State Disk (SSD) storage card currently features 16 GB and 32GB capacities.

"We see a tremendous opportunity for our RIDATA storage products and the need for non heat producing, vibration and temperature resistant storage media in this market.," commented Harvey Liu, Advanced Media president. "From laptops to data recorders, our new solid state drive technology is ideal to replace most mechanical hard drives for this market. Our selection is growing rapidly and includes a number of innovative designs for a variety of application purposes."

Withstanding extreme temperature changes between 0°C to +70°C for commercial operation and -40°C to +85°C for industrial operation, makes the SSD card ideal for the tough requirements of an industrial workplace.

Engineered with semiconductor components, the cards use NAND flash memory. Importantly, it also has the same host interface as a hard disk drive, so there are no issues with compatibility or upgrading. It simply plugs into a device's IDE or SATA slot. RIDATA offers 1.8" and 2.5" module-type Flash SSD for an ATA/IDE interface and 2.5" for a SATA interface.

It meets bus interface industry standard ATA/IDE and SATA, it also supports up to PIO Mode-4 and up to Multiword DMA Mode-2. It has a flash media interface of 8- or 16-bit access and can support up to eight flash-media devices directly and 32 such devices through external decoding logic. A built-in ECC corrects up to three-random 12-bit symbols per 512-byte sector. RIDATA offers 1.8" and 2.5" module-type Flash SSD for an ATA/IDE interface and 2.5" for a SATA interface.

Please contact Ridata to request additional manufacturer's information for the RIDATA Solid State Disk (SSD). Photos and information may also be found on the Advanced Media website, www.ritekusa.com.
