October 12, 2010 - Model SD22 is pilot hole drill that can achieve depths of up to 2x its diameter with +0.005 mm tolerance. Suited for either 2-step or direct drilling, SD26 drill can reach depths of up to 6x its diameter and has +0.004 mm tolerance. Both solid carbide micro drills are available in diameters of 0.1-2.0 mm, are uncoated, and feature 130º point. They are suited for holemaking in high strength steels and superalloys such as titanium.

Seco Tools Announces New High Performance Micro Drills


Troy, Mich. - Seco Tools has launched its new solid carbide high performance micro drills designed for small part production in the automotive, medical and engineering industries. The new SD22 is a pilot hole drill that can achieve depths of up to 2xD.The SD26 drill, designed for either two-step or direct drilling, can reach depths of up to 6x its diameter. Both styles come in diameters of 0.1 - 2.0mm. As compared to HSS drills, the new Seco micro drills offer increased productivity and hole quality in addition to longer tool life and lower cost per component.

Both drills are uncoated and feature a 130º point. Drill diameter tolerance of the SD22 is +0.005mm and the SD26 is +0.004mm. Both drills are suited for holemaking in high strength steels and superalloys such as titanium.
