Kennametal Industrial Product Group Introduces New Metal Removal Solid Carbide High Performance Drills

Kennametal IPG is releasing its new Metal Removal high-performance drills catalog with eight new premium drill styles for the toughest applications including steel, cast irons, aluminum and nonferrous materials, and special applications, according to Steve Abrams, Kennametal Inc. product manager for end mills and carbide round tools.

"Metal Removal drills accomplish the job in a shorter time and can run at higher speeds and feeds than conventional drills. They provide more accurate holes and are more consistent hole-to-hole and drill-to-drill," said Abrams. The new High Performance catalog will offer a larger selection of high quality drills for a wider range of applications. Initial inventories of all products are in place.

The new premium drills, including the Series 283/285 without through coolant and the Series 383/385 with through coolant, give exceptional performance in harder materials. These new drills provide finer surface finishes and have self-centering S points for superior hole quality.

Four new production-proven common shank drills, Series A, B, D, and H, offer an SE sculptured point for faster penetration of steels, aluminums, stainless steels and high temp alloys.

The custom engineered One Shot drills are a real time-saver. They allow you to center, drill, ream and chamfer in one pass while achieving high precision holes in high volume, in high production jobs.

The Series 295 solid carbide spotting drill has a 145° point angle that gives a wider predrilled spot and eliminates corner chipping and premature wear of the following drill.
