FLEXcon Offers a Range of PVguard(TM) Solar Panel Backsheet Solutions

Spencer, MA (June 2, 2009) - FLEXcon now offers a range of high-performance PVguard(TM) TPE multi-layer backsheet solutions for use in photovoltaic panel production. Available for use with either slow-cure or fast-cure encapsulants, PVguard delivers the long-lasting UV, moisture and partial discharge protection that module and encapsulant producers require. To enhance strength and durability, FLEXcon incorporates a high-performing, proprietary laminating adhesive for superior film bonding. PVguard products, which have been proven in use for over five years, also meet all applicable IEC and UL requirements.

PVguard 105040W is FLEXcon's Backsheet Protective Laminate for use with slow-cure encapsulants. It is a TPE - Tedlar®* / PET / EVA - construction that is RoHS compliant and has a partial discharge rating from TUV of >1000 volts. PVguard 10E40W is a Backsheet Protective Laminate for use with fast-cure encapsulants. It is also a TPE - Tedlar®* / PET / EVA - construction that is RoHS compliant and UL recognized under UL QIHE2 file number E318502. PVguard 10E40W backsheet has a partial discharge rating from TUV of >1000 volts. The white EVA tie layer on both PVguard products, which adheres to the encapsulant EVA during module lamination, provides for reflectivity to improve module efficiency.

Due to a long-standing relationship with DuPont, FLEXcon is a continuous resource for backsheet solutions constructed with Tedlar®, which has a proven record of success spanning over 25 years. With manufacturing capabilities in Europe and North America, FLEXcon offers an uninterrupted supply of backsheet protective laminates of all types. The company has remained a reliable, global supplier of solar module backsheet solutions for the photovoltaic industry for more than five years. As a result, it has developed an intimate understanding of what module and encapsulant producers are looking for in backsheet protective laminates:
