NEW YORK, -- Locus Energy has released a redesigned and revamped version of its solar monitoring platform, rebranded as SolarOS. The SolarOS upgrade bolsters the company's monitoring service for residential and commercial solar PV installations and improves overall software usability and performance. The new release includes a refreshed site interface as well as a number of feature enhancements.
While the interface has been updated, the biggest change in SolarOS takes place on the infrastructure layer with a significantly upgraded database architecture. Locus Energy currently manages over 100,000 data feeds from distributed PV systems around the world, and the company has plans for aggressive growth. In order to manage data at this scale while continuing to improve site performance and reliability, SolarOS was built on an advanced clustered database technology. In addition to the infrastructure upgrade, the new platform's other improvements include:
-- Enhanced Portfolio Dashboard - the main dashboard of the SolarOS portfolio application has a new look and feel along with an improved alert summary so users can identify performance issues faster.
-- All New Site Configuration Tool - users now have a new interface for setting up PV systems and managing existing sites. Each system now has a visual site map which displays how all components (meters, inverters, weather stations, combiners/recombiners and arrays) fit together.
-- Performance Yield Analysis - SolarOS makes it much easier to analyze performance yield across a fleet of systems. Yield data for all systems is calculated in real-time and available through email alerts and spreadsheet downloads.
-- Redesigned Reports Interface - the new reports module allows users to select systems and either graph or download performance data quickly. The interface also features more robust scheduling options so reports can be run automatically and emailed out as attachments to one or more users.
