Newest Release of Award-Winning Fidelis XPS(TM) Further Simplifies Risk Reduction for Global Enterprises

Next-Generation Data Leakage Prevention Solution Delivers Native Passive Data Discovery, IBM SiteProtector(R) Integration, and Powerful Reporting Tools

WALTHAM, Mass. and BETHESDA, Md., Dec. 17 -- Fidelis Security Systems, the leader in next-generation data leakage prevention (DLP) solutions, today announced the latest version of the Fidelis Extrusion Prevention System(R), Fidelis XPS(TM), includes enriched features to further enhance an enterprise's ability to reduce the risks of leakage of protected or sensitive information. The newest release of the award-winning network appliance includes native passive data discovery, allowing organizations to identify systems inside the enterprise that are known to contain sensitive information in the simplest manner for assembling a digital asset inventory with a minimal amount of effort.

"Protecting the citizens--including their personal identity information and other sensitive information--of the District of Columbia is our top priority," said Yusuf Acar, CSO, Government of the District of Columbia. "The enhanced visibility and control we gain with the use of Fidelis XPS gives us the power to identify and stop network data leakage."

Additional capabilities delivered in the Fidelis XPS version 5.2 release include:

-- IBM Proventia(R) Management SiteProtector(R) Integration. The integration between the Fidelis XPS management console and IBM's Proventia Management SiteProtector for the seamless sharing of alerts, creating a holistic view of an enterprise's security management information. The IBM Proventia Management SiteProtector alert integration complements existing data export capabilities currently found in Fidelis XPS, including syslog, SNMP, e-mail, Verdasys Digital Guardian, and ArcSight.

-- Powerful Reporting Tools. New report options further increase easy-of-use with customizable views, producing the perfect report every time. With the new Quick Reports an administrator can easily access the most commonly used reporting tools--including alert breakdown reports, traffic summaries, an executive summary and data discovery reports--all generated with a mere click of a button. Reports can run immediately, or be scheduled for periodic creation and delivery.

"Fidelis Security Systems is again leading the way in providing innovative technology solutions--such as passive data discovery and IBM SiteProtector integration--for the next-generation of data leakage risks and realities," said Peter George, President and CEO, Fidelis Security Systems. "The enhanced features found in the newest release of the Fidelis Extrusion Prevention System give enterprises features to simplify their approach to data leakage prevention while leveraging their existing security infrastructure investments, thus lowering their operating costs and optimizing overall risk reduction."

Fidelis XPS Internal Delivers Passive Data Discovery as Additional Benefit

As the Fidelis XPS Internal sensor is the only network data leakage prevention (DLP) solution designed to be used deep inside an organization's network and scale to gigabit-speeds while understanding protocols seen inside the network, it is the only DLP solution able to provide passive data discovery functionality natively, provided as an additional benefit to the customer. By placing the sensor inside the network, customers can build an inventory of their sensitive or protected information by watching real-life internal network traffic and business process. Customers can deploy passive data discovery with Fidelis XPS Internal at a fraction of the cost of alternative, stand-alone products due to the simplicity of deploying a network appliance, yielding a faster time-to-value and lower total cost-of-ownership by leveraging the existing policies configured in Fidelis XPS' management console. Not only is Fidelis XPS simple to deploy, passive data discovery has no impact on production systems as it does not require additional logins or scans of the systems, instead relying on existing business process to learn where information resides.
