Turn Your PC into an Affordable Video Surveillance System

The Netherlands - MSL Soft has released Easy Photo Grabber v. 1.3, an easy-to-use Windows application that turns your PC into a video surveillance system. Capture and store a series of video images from your webcam or video camera, or use Easy Photo Grabber's motion detection feature to alert you immediately when activity is detected.

Easy Photo Grabber is easy to install and configure. You can use an inexpensive webcam that's connected to your USB port, or a high-end video camera connected to your PC's video capture card. In preview mode, you can monitor the camera's field of vision in real-time. Using the built-in timer, the program will start and stop recording whenever you wish. You can also turn motion detection on and off automatically. Each image can contain a date and time stamp.

Instead of accumulating videotapes with a stand-alone surveillance monitoring system, using Easy Photo Grabber lets you capture high-quality images on your hard drive. You can store up to 320,000 .JPG images with a maximum image size of 768 by 568 pixels. Time interval settings are adjustable, from one tenth of a second to 1,000 seconds. The built-in picture viewer lets you view, scale, scroll, and print captured pictures. The program even lets you delete images from your hard drive.

Whether you're a parent who wants to monitor your infant's bedroom, a business person who wants to install motion detection to monitor your office during off-hours, or a traveler who needs to monitor your home or shop when you're on the road, Easy Photo Grabber has the tools that you need.

Easy Photo Grabber v. 1.3 runs under Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP, costs $25(US), and may be purchased securely online at http://www.mslsoft.com/. Purchasers receive all future versions and updates free. You can download a free, fully-functional 21-day trial version from the same web address.
