IRCH to Unveil New Retention Manager Wizard Software at ARMA International 2008

Easy-to-use software application offers users the capability to build legally defensible records retention schedules in less than one hour

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo., Oct. 17 -- IRCH today announced it will demonstrate an innovative new document retention application at the 53rd Annual ARMA International Conference and Expo. Leveraging its dynamic Retention Manager family of software, IRCH has developed the newest addition - - Retention Manager Wizard (RMW). A user-friendly application, RMW allows lawyers, records management, IT professionals and others to build records retention schedules in a matter of minutes.

"For years, people have asked for an 'instant' records retention schedule, but up until now it was not possible to do so in a legally responsible manner. However, all of that changes with the new Retention Manager Wizard," says IRCH President, Donald S. Skupsky. "ARMA International 2008 is an ideal venue to unveil our new solution and its unique approach to records retention, which enables users to build a schedule in a quick and legally responsible manner."

With Sarbanes-Oxley, litigation and the move toward managed electronic information, records retention has become a concern for many organizations. Companies storing documents too long in archives may place themselves at risk in a legal dispute. Moreover, if a business destroys records too early, it can be accused of eliminating evidence or improper destruction of records during litigation. RMW and the records retention methodology can work with current electronic document management systems to provide a total solution for maintaining and destroying records according to legal requirements and organizational needs. RMW is able to accurately create a legally defensible records retention schedule for almost any major industry using IRCH's 25 years of proven experience and legal research.

Traditionally, assembling a retention schedule for a medium to large organization could typically take hundreds of hours of difficult legal research, plus time-consuming inventories, meetings and reviews. With RMW, the initial process takes less than an hour, allowing professionals, executives and lawyers the freedom to move beyond the simple issues in a short time and focus their attention on fine-turning the rest.

Similar to other software "wizards," RMW walks users through a proven process in a few simple steps. Without any legal training or records retention experience, one can easily navigate through a series of questions based upon industry specific issues. In the end, the Wizard assembles the appropriate records series, legal research, retention time periods and records retention analysis into a fully documented set of reports.
