Dataforth Offers Enhanced ReDAQ(TM) Remote Data Acquisition System for SCM5B isoLynx®
The enhanced ReDAQ(TM) software package available from Dataforth Corporation provides an integrated solution for test and measurement and data acquisition applications when combined with one or more SCM5B isoLynx® SLX200 data acquisition hardware systems. ReDAQ(TM) enables data to be monitored and outputs to be set, locally or remotely, via an intranet or the Internet.
The ReDAQ(TM) system has been enhanced with the addition of ReDAQ(TM) Console, an installation and management utility. ReDAQ(TM) Console provides a single window from which the complete installation of the software distribution can be effected by clicking on just three buttons. The status of the ReDAQ(TM) Web server can then be controlled, again via the click of a few buttons. In addition, ReDAQ(TM) Console displays the operational status of the server from the same window.
Establishing a complete test system with ReDAQ(TM) is exceptionally simple. The core software runs under Microsoft Windows XP Professional as a service. The ReDAQ(TM) service then provides a real-time Web server, which can connect to many SCM5B isoLynx® SLX200 units via one or more networks. The networks can be RS-485 or dedicated Ethernets, or a combination of the two. Users access the system via an intranet or the Internet. No application software is required because the HMI is delivered via Web browsers. Dynamic real-time graphical displays are generated for the Web pages by the ReDAQ(TM)-Designer, which generates Java applets.
Because the ReDAQ(TM) system is browser-based, remote control and monitoring are readily achieved. The administrator easily creates an I/O Website using the ReDAQ(TM)-Designer. The ReDAQ(TM)-Designer allows dynamic real-time graphical objects such as pie charts, histograms, graphs, and mimics to be created using a graphical user interface. When viewed in the users' browsers, these graphical displays respond in real-time to external signals. The input data to the graphics comes from the Dataforth SCM5B isolated analog signal conditioning modules that are plugged into the isoLynx® SLX200 units.
A lossless data historian is built into ReDAQ(TM); it runs automatically and continuously captures data at regular intervals. This historized data then can be used to generate history tables or graphs. ReDAQ(TM) also provides for the exchange of current and historical data with other applications via XML. In addition, users can create Excel spreadsheets using current and historical data.
The ability to set multiple alarm levels is another new ReDAQ(TM) feature. Once a monitored signal crosses an alarm level, a built-in SMTP client generates an email indicating system status.
