September 10, 2007 - SearchInform Technologies Inc. announces a new version of SearchInform, a corporate system of full text search and search for documents with similar content in large data volumes, featuring a conceptually new document indexing technology.
New features in SearchInform 4.2
In SearchInform 4.2 instead of indexing all files as they are, the user now has an option of indexing only the text that the documents contain. With this new feature SearchInform frees you and your software from the problem of bulky space-occupying index and the need to find a large amount of disk space required for indexing. The final index ends up being rather compact, can be defragged and compressed by archiving tools. Besides that, with this indexing mode enabled, the final index will only contain the unformatted text data from all indexed documents, which, aside from taking significantly less disk space, allows SearchInform 4.2 to process search queries with a considerably higher speed.
