PIATI(TM)_SWO Offers Developers of Vision Components Smart Camera Applications New Data Matrix Decoding Software

CAMBRIDGE, Mass - The Value Engineering Alliance, a leading provider of machine vision solutions, announces the addition of a Vision Components VC4XXX series-compatible software option to its PIATI(TM) family of ECC200 Data Matrix decoding solutions.

PIATI(TM)_SWO was originally supplied as an ActiveX Control, C++ API (DLL), or C API (DLL) for ease of implementation in WinTel-compatible environments, and now also available as an .NET version. It was developed specifically for organizations and individuals who seek a robust decoding engine to implement in Data Matrix decoding software applications. It serves as an automatic identification component in comprehensive vision application development and implementation environments that include other vision tools and associated functions, or as the heart of their own fully integrated, stand-alone matrix code readers.

PIATI(TM)_SWO has been designed to decipher ECC200 Data Matrix codes and provide impressive results in virtually all practical situations: when companies are unwilling or unable to mark their codes in accordance with the established standards; when codes are imaged using poor lighting, low contrast, or optical setups that produce undesirable effects; when codes are marked on textured or treated surfaces; when codes reside in scenes that contain potentially confusing structures; and when codes exhibit challenging degrees of degradation or feature data cells less than three pixels in width or diameter.

PIATI_SWO delivers excellent decoding results while operating in an automatic mode that requires no manual setting of parameters. For peak performance, additional speed and robustness can be achieved by inputting code information that is known in advance.

PIATI_SWO-powered products are ideally suited for automatic decoding of Data Matrices that have been machine-marked (laserscribed, laserprinted, dotpeened/pinstamped, inkjet printed, electrochemically etched, etc.) on: wafers/PCBs/substrates; glass lenses; molds & containers; electronic components and carriers; medical/dental devices and instruments; automotive or aerospace components; direct mail pieces; and packaged goods. It performs the identifying, matching, sorting, tracking, or verifying of these products as they move through various manufacturing or material handling processes.

PIATI_SWO is one of several product offerings in the PIATI (Place It And Trace It(TM)) suite of Data Matrix decoding software and systems available from The Value Engineering Alliance. The product suite also includes fully integrated general-purpose products and application/industry-specific appliances.
