ViewDirect-ABS Enhances Control for Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance
RYE, N.Y.--Dec. 10, 2002--Mobius Management Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:MOBI), a leading provider of software for total content management (TCM), today announced the availability of ViewDirect(R)-ABS for open systems, an audit and balancing system that helps ensure the integrity and consistency of enterprise information.
ViewDirect-ABS provides a control that enhances confidence in the accuracy of financial reporting and certification as required by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. The software automates the balancing and reconciliation processes that are typically subject to human error when performed manually. This release extends the operating platforms for the product, which has been used in OS/390 environments.
The Sarbanes-Oxley Act, signed into law in July 2002, requires corporate officers to certify that the financial information they report fairly presents the financial condition and operating results of their companies. The Act requires internal controls designed to ensure that material information is made known to corporate officers and that financial data is appropriately recorded, processed, summarized and reported. ViewDirect-ABS ensures accuracy by auditing and balancing data across applications and platforms and alerts key personnel when irregularities are detected. The product is a component of ViewDirect TCM, an integrated suite of solutions for total content management.

ViewDirect-ABS is fully integrated with the ViewDirect TCM repository and with WorkflowDirect(TM), Mobius's Java-based business process platform. Reports and documents in the repository can be processed in ViewDirect-ABS and a document's arrival in the repository can trigger the balancing process. WorkflowDirect automates actions to be taken when unusual conditions are detected.
Additional key capabilities of ViewDirect-ABS include:
• A "record and playback" facility that transforms the user's knowledge of balancing requirements into rules that automate the process.
• A control-total database of extracted values used for period-to-period and application-to-application balancing.
• A line-item reconciliation process that extracts detail data from multiple sources for comparison at the transaction level. Line-item reconciliation can be automatically triggered when an out-of-balance condition is detected.
