Compass Technologies Releases New 5E Software for Access Control
Compass Technologies, Exton, PA is issuing a new version of patented software for its 5E access control system.
Incorporating an industry standard MSDE or SQL server 2000 database, the Compass 5E software is totally modular with components running as true Windows services.
With this new release the 5E is now a true enterprise system capable of supporting up to 1,024 readers and 30 workstations per server. The software is designed to efficiently handle even the heaviest transaction loads using SOAP and extensible markup language (XML).
The new Navigator(TM) interface allows real time connection to other user databases such as HR or University Registrar systems. Soon to be announced by Compass is a suite of browser based thin client workstations, which will support Microsoft's . Net format.
The software is the latest in a series of products and support services that Compass provides for its systems integrator business partners. The company's focus is on the entire spectrum of access control, from huge industrial, commercial and educational complexes and military bases, to modest-sized installations.
