Developers Benefit from New Release of XBinder

EXTON, Pa., April 1, 2008 - Objective Systems Inc. (http://www.obj-sys.com/), a developer of software that supports open communications standards, has released version 1.4 of XBinder. Data binding tools like XBinder save the developer from the need to learn in-depth details of XML schema, a complex and daunting standard.

An XML data binding application, XBinder helps developers who use XML schema in messaging applications, which includes web services. Similar to Java and .NET web services toolkits, XBinder instead uses C and C++ programming languages. The tool allows rapid development of interfaces for XML and SOA applications.

While the value of the new features will mean different things to each developer, the most notable feature is the improved derived type handling along with the capability to handle the xsi:type attribute. Developers use this in many schemas and instances.

Other new features included in this version:

o Support for XML canonicalization (C14N) - Developers can directly code
XML instances in canonical form in accordance with the W3C C14N
standard.
o Preliminary support added for Efficient XML Interchange (EXI) -
Includes a run-time API and utility programs (xml2exi and exi2xml) to
support the initial draft of the W3C Efficient XML Interchange (EXI)
recommendation. This API efficiently compresses XML instances into a
smaller form for transmission across low bandwidth links.
o Improved support for WSDL/SOAP - XBinder can generate code for WSDL at
the operation bindings level for input, output, and fault message
types. The new version also adds support for SOAP version 1.2.
o Other new features include gzip compression, mixed-content handling,
customized XSD to C/C++ type mappings, and use of C++ STL types.

A free full-featured evaluation version of XBinder is available for downloading from the company's website. For more information, visit http://www.obj-sys.com/.
