SenSage Expands Offerings for CDR Data Retention, Sees Strong Global Response to Telco Compliance Solutions

New SenSage CDR Warehouse Allows Customers to Collect, Store and Analyze Massive Volumes of Call Data with Industry's Lowest Total Cost of Ownership

SAN FRANCISCO, May 29 / -- Enterprise software leader SenSage, Inc. today announced the SenSage CDR Warehouse, a patented data repository software solution ideal for telecommunications firms and service providers that must comply with emerging global law enforcement and government directives for storing and quickly accessing call detail records (CDRs) and other traffic data.

The CDR Warehouse, available now, was developed in response to the EU data retention directive and other anti-terrorism and legal regulations. Under these directives, telcos must be able to store and manage upon request and rapidly query tens and even hundreds of terabytes of stored CDRs and related transaction data. The CDR Warehouse provides a solution to this challenge that is significantly more cost-effective and efficient than traditional data warehouse solutions, which would require major investments in IT infrastructure and support personnel to manage this volume of data.

SenSage's CDR Warehouse will be featured at the ISS World Conference in Washington, D.C., May 29-June 1, where SenSage will present a case study involving a 100-billion CDR record proof-of-concept project, developed in conjunction with partners EMC and Intec Billing Systems. The solution will also be showcased at the ETIS Annual Conference in Brussels, Belgium, June 7-8.

"Since our initial proof-of-concept last fall, we and our partners are now deploying CDR retention solutions with customers in Europe, the United States, South America and Asia," said Dan Barahona, vice president of emerging markets of SenSage. "This market response has exceeded our expectations, reflecting a broader market need beyond the EU directive. With the release of CDR Warehouse, we look forward to continued customer growth with our partners, who have played a key role for our team in providing technology, generating market awareness and deploying production solutions."

The new software leverages SenSage's industry-leading event data management technology and pre-integrates collection and reporting capabilities for telco CDR retention and analysis. The CDR Warehouse provides unlimited scalability, easy integration with existing telco infrastructure, and rapid querying of years of data in a highly compressed format. Licensing fees are based on daily CDR volumes instead of CPU usage, stored data volume, number of servers or other metrics. This simplified licensing model allows telcos to avoid over- or under-sizing their warehouse deployment. SenSage has partnered with leading telco solution providers, including HP, Intec, EMC and IBM.

"Given the massive volumes of data telcos must now store, retain and query, these organizations must consider other CDR retention solutions than those built on traditional relational database technologies," said Fernando Elizalde, senior telecommunications analyst of Frost & Sullivan. "Solutions based on event data management technology, such as SenSage's, seem to be better-suited to address the task at hand."
