Auto-deployment, bare metal recovery with remote restore, Macintosh-based administration included among additional features
ORLANDO, Fla., April 7, 2008 -- STORAGE NETWORKING WORLD -- ROBOBAK(TM), the leader in helping companies protect their corporate-critical information at remote and branch offices (ROBOs), today introduced ROBOBAK Version 8, the next generation of remote data protection software. Easily installed and administered, the Version 8 platform redefines the way companies with multiple sites can quickly, efficiently and robustly defend their data at every phase of its lifecycle.
Version 8 (V8) adds a myriad of powerful features, while maintaining ROBOBAK's reputation for simple operation across numerous locations, helping companies safeguard their most valuable asset. For instance, Version 8 introduces Agentless CDP, continuous data protection that allows administrators to easily schedule repeated backup operations that constantly protect changes made to documents, databases and Exchange mailboxes made since the last backup, without the need to install software agents on each protected machine.
ROBOBAK's V8 platform engine also introduces additional features such as auto-deployment, which automatically senses computers added to the network and adds them to scheduled data backups, as well as remote bare metal recovery, enabling administrators to quickly restore an image of a crashed computer to another machine, either on-site or to a remote location across campus, or around the world. In addition, the image recovery can be accomplished to a computer that is not identical to the crashed device, or it can be imported to a remote device, such as external USB drives, giving administrators an added option.
