Software promotes time-series analysis performance, agility,.September 9, 2008 -
Suited for enterprises with terabyte-class and larger data warehouses, Time Series Solution simplifies queries with built-in support for time series analytics (only requiring SQL) and delivers sub-second query response times. Time series metrics - trends, seasonal changes, sales rates, inventory turns - are defined as part of HyperRoll DPM data model using declarative syntax, and any kind of time dimension hierarchies are supported.

HyperRoll Announces Time Series Analytics Solution
Enables high-performance, flexible analysis of large consumer data warehouses
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 2 -- HyperRoll, Inc., the leading provider of Data Performance Management software, today announced the general availability of its new HyperRoll Time Series Solution. Based upon its industry leading Data Performance Management Suite(TM), the Time Series Solution dramatically improves time-series analysis performance, flexibility and ease-of-use for enterprises with terabyte-class and larger data warehouses.
Time series analyses are common and often critical for enterprises, especially those that conduct large volumes of transactions with consumers. Understanding trends, seasonal changes, sales rates, and inventory turns are all fundamental time-series metrics used to drive successful consumer focused businesses. For many enterprises, these analyses must be conducted against data stored in relational databases and not in multi-dimensional databases due to the large data size -- terabytes or more. While good at managing this data, relational database management systems have relatively poor support for time series analyses. Query response times can take hours or even days. Creation of time series queries requires understanding of arcane SQL language syntax. In some cases, the desired time series query is impossible.
HyperRoll's Time Series Analytics solution overcomes these performance and complexity limitations. Query response times are as fast as queries to stored aggregates and typically sub-second. Queries are simplified because of built-in support for time series analytics. Users only need simple SQL for their queries. Time series metrics are defined as part of the HyperRoll DPM data model using a simple declarative syntax. Virtually any kind of time dimension hierarchies are supported; including, fiscal calendars, 12/13 period calendars, 52/53 week periods, etc. Example analytics include cumulative current period-to-date, cumulative last n periods-to-date, and last period compared to this period. Businesses can license the solution as an option to HyperRoll's leading Data Performance Management suite.
"HyperRoll's Time Series Solution is more effective than what we've seen in relational databases by far," said Michael Bealmear, CEO of HyperRoll. "We have the best architecture to provide time series analytics performance and simplicity simultaneously."
