Optimal IdM Launches the Virtual Identity Server for Automated Compliance Management(TM)

Providing a codeless, point and click solution for performing automated compliance within an Active Directory environment

ANAHEIM, Calif., Sept. 8 /-- (Digital Id world show) (Booth #312) Optimal IdM LLC, a Microsoft partner and a leading global provider of identity management software and consulting solutions, today formally launches the newest edition of its .NET virtual directory, the Virtual Identity Server for Automated Compliance Management (VIS for ACM(TM)).

It is a product that builds on the robust functionality of Optimal IdM's flagship .NET virtual directory platform, the Virtual Identity Server(TM). The Virtual Identity Server for Automated Compliance Management provides organizations with a codeless, automated solution for performing compliance-related tasks within the Active Directory (AD) environment in near real-time. As data changes within the environment, VIS for ACM performs actions based on business rules as frequently as an organization requires and provides a near real-time solution for compliance.

VIS for ACM seamlessly integrates with and extends the Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure. For example, many companies use Microsoft's MIIS/Identity Life Cycle Manager (ILM) to automate the processes of on-boarding and off-boarding employees. Now, those same organizations can use VIS for ACM to provide near real-time enforcement and insure complete compliance of their Active Directory environment in a fully automated fashion once this data is provisioned by ILM to Active Directory.

VIS for ACM ships with over 20 pre-defined actions that can be triggered when data in Active Directory meets a given criteria. For example, customers can easily configure VIS for ACM to automatically e-mail users after 30 days of inactivity. VIS for ACM can then automatically delete or disable these accounts after 90 days of inactivity. One of these actions provides the ability to call out to custom code that the customer can write themselves, providing an extensible and flexible framework.

"From our customer base we have seen a tremendous need for a way to provide this near real-time enforcement and compliance of our clients' Active Directory environment. While the official launch is today, VIS for ACM is already in production in two environments, both a secure and a non-secure environment for a government entity," comments Larry Aucoin, Managing Partner of Optimal IdM.

Built on the flagship platform of Optimal IdM's Virtual Identity Server, VIS for ACM is the latest of the many Microsoft-centric point solutions developed by Optimal IdM. Others include: VIS for ILM, VIS for SharePoint and VIS for Enterprise Group Management.
