E-Mail Decryption Made Easy ... Entrust Introduces Latest Secure E-Mail Solution

SC Magazine: Entrust Entelligence Messaging Server is a five-star product

DALLAS, Sept. 18 -- Most organizations want a strong, reliable e-mail security solution to enable faster, more efficient communication with employees, vendors and customers. Yet standards-based decryption, usability and overall management have either required broader infrastructure or the use of proprietary tools to operate. That is why Entrust, Inc. (NASDAQ:ENTU) has released the next version of its user-friendly e-mail security solution, Entrust Entelligence Messaging Server (EMS) 9.0.

"Securing e-mail communication in a seamless, user-friendly manner is a key component of a layered security strategy that enables business interaction with consumers, enterprises and governments," said Entrust Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Bill Conner. "EMS 9.0 provides organizations a faster, easier means to encrypt and decrypt e-mail messages within the most popular e-mail clients in use today."

The new release of Entrust Entelligence Messaging Server can now issue its own industry-standard decryption certificates for external recipients to download. This allows recipients to receive secure e-mail directly and transparently into their e-mail application of choice, such as Lotus Notes or Microsoft Outlook. An external certification authority (CA) is no longer needed because the solution uses an on-board CA technology. Organizations also can leverage any existing external credentials using EMS 9.0, so they are not forced to abandon prior investments in these credentials.

Further evidence of the convenience and usability of Entrust Entelligence Messaging Server 9.0 appeared in the September 2007 issue of SC Magazine. The publication rated EMS as a five-star product and one of the best choices for the money. The appliance-based e-mail encryption solution, which serves as a key component in a layered security approach, joins Entrust IdentityGuard as products SC Magazine has reviewed and praised.

Perfect for the mobile workforce, a new mobile browser interface allows any user who has a Web-enabled mobile phone to log in, read and respond to secure messages. This capability is in addition to the already-available native BlackBerry integration.

In an April 2007 report titled "You've Got Encrypted E-mail," Forrester principal analyst Paul Stamp said, "Many organizations now routinely exchange sensitive data with partners over e-mail, but many do not have a mandated method to do so. These days, many auditors are putting the heat on organizations that don't have a company standard for secure e-mail. Moreover, consumers increasingly expect to be able to exchange private information with merchants and vendors in a secure manner."

To increase platform security, Entrust Entelligence Messaging Serve 9.0 can leverage optional versatile authentication for administration applications, configuration privileges and webmail access. New auditing and reporting functions can provide compliance officers, administrators and configurators detailed reports on usage and events within the messaging server.

Additional features in this release include a system dashboard and message-tracking interface, as well as various tools for reporting on the health of a cluster of Entrust Entelligence Messaging Server appliances and diagnosing issues that may arise. Many of these features are coveted by top financial institutions and organizations that demand a high level of availability and system security.

Entrust Entelligence Messaging Server is part of an overall encryption and information protection platform found under the Entrust Entelligence portfolio, which includes full disk encryption, network folder encryption, file encryption, end-to-end e-mail encryption and gateway encryption products.
